Just under 10 minutes from Fairlie, 40 min from Lake Tekapo and only 1.5 hr from MT Cook, is our super cute historic Farmers cottage.

Watch and pet our friendly animals from the cottage and experience some of the best star gazing in New Zealand from our beautiful hot tub.

During your stay we offer a free animal tour of 1 hour, whereby you will visit some of our friendly animals incl bottle feeding our pet lambs (Aug-Dec), an Alpaca walk 🦙, and our friendly horses, cats, dogs and chickens 🥰

You will have the complete cottage to yourself🌻

It offers a lovely open plan layout with all the bedrooms opening up to the lounge with a huge, and very functional, wood burner.

Collect your own eggs each morning and while cooking you can watch the alpacas and sheep whilst chatting with your family and friends by the fire or at the macrocarpa dining table.

There is a private deck of the kitchen and a cute little loft for even better views over the paddocks towards Mt Dobson and the other peaks.

Because we have a small 20 hectare working farm there is restricted access to the northern paddocks (from the gate by the firewood) but feel free to roam along the southern parts of the stream and the southern paddocks and of course for those loving horses we will be more than happy to introduce you to them, and the cattle, if you like.

Other things to note

Fairlie is the gate way to the Mackenzie, beside being around our animals there is so much to explore. Great walks around Fairlie and of course beautiful day tours to both MT Cook and Lake Tekapo.

Or simply stay put and relax with just a quick visit to the most famous Pie shop, the Fairlie Bakehouse.

We cater for those seeking an animal experience in New Zealand or a simple break away from busy lifestyles to relax ❤️

A lovely rural setting less than 10 minutes from Fairlie, 40 minutes from Lake Tekapo and 2 hours from Christchurch. The ski fields of Mt Dobson and Roundhill are pretty much on your door step.
